Living in the United Kingdom, I admit to being envious of all those great subscription services available to people living in the US. I mean don't get me wrong, there are some fabulous subscription boxes over here, too, such as Crown and Glory.
Well, imagine my giddiness when a late night search of the internet landed me upon a book lovers monthly subscription box called Book and a Brew! Each month I could wait with baited breath for the mail carrier to deliver not only a surprise book, but a brew as well to enjoy while curled up on the sofa with aforementioned book!
How could I lose? I subscribed for £12.99 a month, and waited.
Finally, the day arrived, and a lovely box was delivered to me at my front door. I do admit at this point it did take me a bit of time to open my goodies, because I wanted to photograph and share the 'unboxing'.
So...here is my experience with Book and a Brew.
The box is now open. Everything is well packaged in tissue paper. A good start.
Step #2. The book, and may I add at this point, it's a HARDBACK! Yes, a HARDBACK book!! Plus a card with a description of my book, THE INVESTIGATION by Jung-Myung Lee. There's a little teaser of the book -- Fukuoka Prison, 1944. Beyond the prison walls the war rages; inside a man is found brutally murdered. This is followed by a nice blurb of the book.
In keeping with the Oriental theme of this mystery set in Korea, also enclosed in my 'brew' is Teapigs Mao Feng Tea. The description promises me an experience of natural taste of summer air, peaches and apricots. As an added bonus, the tea will turn a clear pale green upon brewing. (Sorry for the sideways photo)
Overall, I'm thrilled with my first shipment from Book and a Brew, and look forward to my next delivery. I love the idea of being surprised by what book I receive, and the opportunity to try out new authors, and authors I'm not aware of yet. The addition of the tea is just an added bonus.
Book and a Brew also offers other boxes including a children's box and an adult coloring book option. You can also try out the service with a single box.

Also, this review is all my opinion. I purchased the product and was NOT given any incentive to write this review.
